Candida Duperroir
Public Policy Chair
VP of Community Services and Public Policy, Candida “Candy” Duperroir, promotes access and affordability for families and child care programs at Hively. A Servant- Leader and effective Change Agent for the community, Ms. Duperroir has over 25 years of experience building strong Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies in addition to mentoring and developing leaders to join her vision and pursue their work with love and dignity. Formerly, Ms. Duperroir worked as the county organizer for the national grassroots organization, Parent Voices, becoming a leading advocate for access to child care, housing, and employment services.
Candy was also a CalWORKs mother of 3, who had to resign from her job in order to access child care and housing. She understands the importance of access to safety net programs to strengthen families! In addition to overseeing the Child Care Resource & Referral Team, she also oversees two Family Resource Centers in Alameda County. She knows how important it is for families to have access to a Family Resource Center that supports families with basic needs, diapers, hygiene and access to other community resources such as mental health, Cal-Fresh, health care insurance, housing, etc.
Candy believes families, child care providers, and non-profit social service administrators should be the change agents who implement policies and regulations for all children to have equitable and inclusive access to child care and education. In Candy’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful and thriving grandchildren. She and her husband also enjoy RVing in their travel trailer throughout California!
