Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Kit Project
Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) caregivers are an essential and vital part of our early learning & care system. FFN care is the most used form of child care in this country, now more than ever. Reliance on this kind of home-based care increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it possible for so many essential workers to show up when they were needed by all of us.
In partnership with a pilot group of R&R/AP programs and Evolve (formerly known as Impact Hub), the Network developed "Welcome to Caregiving" kits. These kits provide information about health and safety, resources and supports (for example: training, playgroups, food programs, etc.), as well as materials for an at home activity that FFN caregivers can share with children in their care. Our desire is to honor and appreciate the work that FFN caregivers do, and to invite them to be a part of the ecosystem of support available to them through the R&R agencies found in every county in our state.
