CCIP Expansion
The FY 2018-2019 California State Budget includes an increase for child care quality investments. The Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP) was designated to receive some of these one-time federal Child Care and Development Fund dollars. This additional funding comes at a pivotal time, because the decline in licensed family child care has meant reduced infant/toddler care capacity in our state.
In the upcoming year, CCIP will boost its recruitment efforts. Additionally, CCIP will be expanding its reach and focus on serving the full continuum of home-based providers, including Family, Friend & Neighbor (FFN)/license-exempt caregivers. To support successful implementation of this work, the Network will be developing a new Growing, Learning, Caring (GLC) playgroup curriculum and facilitator’s guide.
