Giovanni Zuniga

Public Policy Chair

Giovanni Zuniga is the Public Policy Manager for Pathways LA, where he advocates for policy and system change that improves access to quality, affordable early learning settings for children in LA County Service Area 4(SPA 4). Before becoming Public Policy Manager, he worked as a Field Representative for Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson, of California’s 64 th Assembly District. He served as the chief administrator for education, homelessness, housing, water safety, and healthcare matters. He also worked as a Housing Coordinator for Brilliant Corners, a Non-Profit organization that provides housing for homeless individuals throughout Los Angeles County. As a Housing Coordinator, he tracked housing initiatives, monitored Fair Market Rent for Los Angeles County, and coordinated client move-ins into housing units.

Giovanni graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2016, and the University of Southern California with a Master’s degree in International Public Policy and Management in 2017. During his graduate studies, he reported on the central causes of the increase in Latino homelessness rates in Los Angeles County to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). Additionally, he interned for Senate Majority Leader Senator Robert M. Hertzberg of California’s 18 th Senate District, and in the United States Capitol for U.S. Congressman Earl Blumenauer of Oregon’s Third Congressional District.
