The Family Engagement and Empowerment Division (FEED) within the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is seeking an experienced and mission driven leader to enable the work of the CalFresh Branch. As the CalFresh Branch Chief, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all Californians have access to nutritious food. By leading our dedicated team, you will directly impact the lives of millions of individuals and families throughout the state.
We're looking for an innovative thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills, who can provide leadership over several complex projects and special initiatives at the same time. If you enjoy collaborating with internal and external partners and finding ways to improve policy and service delivery, this is the position for you.
This is a statewide recruitment with the option for hybrid work. The CalFresh Branch Chief reports directly to the Deputy Director of the Division, who is based in Sacramento.

Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Social Services policies. The headquarter location will be designated based on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location.
