Newly Released Infrastructure Grant Request for Applications

Purpose
The purpose of this communication is to notify center-based providers and family child care home providers of the Infrastructure Grant Program (IGP): New Construction and Major Renovation (NCMR) funding opportunity for new and/or existing facilities.
Background
The California Department of Social Services has $150 million appropriated in grants for new construction and major renovation of child care facilities. Funds shall be used to make extensive alterations, structural changes, major renovation, and/or construction to build new child care spaces. The grant must be used to increase licensed spaces by:
- Renovating or building out an existing facility by adding classrooms
- Constructing a brand-new facility
- Replacing a facility lost due to a state or federally declared disaster
- Expanding Small Family Child Care Homes to Large Family Child Care Homes
Application Submission Requirements
Interested applicants will apply electronically using the Submittable web portal, available on the NCMR webpage.
Applications must be received on or before 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
** Technical assistance for application submission will not be available after 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2023.
Webinars to Review the Application Process
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Child Care and Development Division (CCDD) will host a virtual webinar regarding the NCMR RFA on December 8, 2022. This interactive webinar will provide information on how to apply, eligibility, and answer questions regarding the application process.
There will be one session specifically for Center-Based Providers and a separate session specifically for Family Child Care Home Providers. Please see below for login information and be sure to register ONLY for the one that corresponds to your facility type.

Center-Based Providers Only
