Melanie Dodson

4 C's Sonoma

Melanie Dodson has had the privilege to serve as the Executive Director of the Community Child Care Council of Sonoma County (4Cs) since 2008 – 17 years. She is an advocate for and worked with Sonoma County children, families and their caregivers for 28 years and is passionate about ensuring access and support. She is the mother to two amazing children Riley 15 and Dylan 11 and when she is not at 4Cs she is usually driving her children to one of their many school or sports activities including flag football, baseball and soccer to name a few.

Ms. Dodson joined 4Cs Sonoma County in 2001 as the Child Care Resource & Referral Director. She previously worked as an afterschool program director, preschool teacher and elementary school teacher. 4Cs Sonoma is the largest Child Care Resource Agency in Sonoma County providing child care resource & referral services, alternative payment programs, is a Family Child Care CACFP Sponsor (Sonoma/Napa/Marin) as well as operating twelve 12 CA State Preschool sites and CCTR Toddler programs across Sonoma County. Additionally, the organization operates an extensive Quality Counts Coaching and training program, has an expanded CCIP Program, partners with the County of Sonoma in the delivery of the Bridge program and is in partnership with Connecting CA Families as the Region 1 Lead.

My years of experience at 4Cs, with partners and friends across the state as well as numerous organizations locally will be an asset as I serve on the R&R Network Board. I have served on the Public Policy Committee in the past as well. It is important to me that we continue to honor our organizations origins, history and uniqueness, while also positioning our field confidently and decisively to meet the needs of today. I am honored to be considered for the Public Member position during this critical time of transition and opportunity for the R&R Network.
