Job Opportunity: Producer/Reporter

The California Child Care Resource & Referral Network (“the R&R Network”) is seeking a self-starting, experienced Producer/Reporter for a limited series about the impact of California’s child care quality improvement system on child care providers, and what they would change about it. This producer will have the primary responsibility to craft the narrative for this show, conduct interviews, produce/mix the episodes, and host the show.

This is a two-month project that will wrap at the end of August 2021. The program will be produced remotely, with the possibility of some field recording in the San Francisco Bay Area. This producer will work alongside our project manager and child care experts to interview child care providers about their experiences with California’s quality rating system for child care programs. This is the first project of its kind for our organization, so we are seeking a producer whose podcasting expertise we can lean on and learn from.

The quality rating system is a standardized evaluation program that rates licensed child care programs on a scale of 1-5. We would like to hear about what aspects of this quality rating system child providers like, dislike, and what changes they would like to see. We hope that the producer will bring their own creativity and insight to shape the direction of this podcast series. We imagine the series will be 2-3 short episodes, depending on the creative direction.
